Kourt Williams II, the Ohio State linebacker, will not play the entire 2023 season due to a second ACL tear during his career in Ohio State. On Monday, Ohio State coach Ryan Day confirmed the injury. Although he was injury-free during camp, Williams cannot play during the entire season.

Williams, a 6-foot-1, 225-pound linebacker, was anticipated to have a substantial role on Ohio State's defense this season. As a freshman in 2021, he played ten games, managing 14 tackles and a single sack.

Ohio State's defense has taken a major hit, and it is already coping with the absence of numerous key players from last season. Now, the Buckeyes will have to depend on younger players to take over and cover the gap created by Williams' absence.

Ohio State's first game of the 2023 season is scheduled for September 2 against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
