Ruby Franke, the mother responsible for the family YouTube channel "8 Passengers," was arrested on August 30th in Ivins, Utah, on suspicion of two counts of aggravated child abuse. Franke and her business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt, were taken into custody.

The arrest followed years of criticism about Franke's parenting and rumors of family strife.Franke is currently listed as "in custody" on the Washington County Sheriff's Office's website. Officials stated that the discovery of evidence consistent with the children's wounds resulted from a search warrant, and the Department of Child and Family Services took four minors into custody. The police also found that Hildebrandt had direct contact with the children and Franke was aware of the alleged abuse and neglect.

Ruby Franke, along with her husband Kevin Franke and their six children, were well-known from their appearances on the 8 Passengers channel. Shari, Chad, Abby, Julie, Russell, and Eve comprise a family that has been experiencing a decline over the last three years.

News of Franke's arrest has surprised many of her viewers who have been tracking the family's experiences for years. This incident has also raised concerns about the accountability of social media influencers and the potential damage that can arise from sharing personal information online.

The investigation into the matter is ongoing, and Franke and Hildebrandt have not yet received formal charges. According to reports, the children taken into custody are doing well.
